Hair Growth Pattern on Surface Composition

Next, let’s layer the hair flow onto the surface conposition. You might have noticed that the direction of the cliff varies greatly depending on each position. At this point, you may realize that it is impossible to cut both the right and left sides with he same techniques while lifting the layer underneath. Even the seemingly invincible square shape will end up collapsing the hair flow, especially in areas with stronger curvature, as the edge of square shape shifts to the angle of the layer. Let’s confirm this by using the square shape cross-section diagram below.

The solution I have been employing for a long time is carving with the edge technique, which I learned from a snowboard mogul course, as explained in [Chapter 2: MOGLE]. Just like how a snowboard edge changes direction while carving, we can apply a gradual, smooth counterforce to the initial angle. This prevents a rapid increase or decrease in rising energy while changing direction. The theory is that a curved surface is fixed at the central point, and forces are dispersed outward. This separation of forces to create consistency is useful in the haircuts we perform.

Later, I made a new discovery based on the contents of this blog, which I have written over 38 chapters so far. But before that, I must proceed to discuss the techniques of skeletal correction and hair flow correction using elevation and twist-over direction, for those of you who have patiently read this blog up until now. At the very least, I believe you have understood by this point that hair design is a volumetric object, and energy force lines exist within its shape. The content so far was not to stall for time but rather a necessary step to help you understand this concept. For those of you who have patiently read on, I promise the time spent was not in vain, and this will become clear in the upcoming chapters. To begin, in the next chapter [39 Corrugated Plate], I will discuss how the direction of panel movement in various cutting techniques relates to hair flow and skeletal correction.

では、次に毛流れを面構成の上に重ねていきましょう。崖の向きがそれぞれの立ち位置によっては大きく方向が違っている事にお気づきでしょう。これを通りいっぺん等の切り方で右も左もカットして、その下のレイヤーを持ち上げる事など到底無理だという事にお気づきになりますでしょうか？　あの無敵と思われるスクエアしシェイプでも、丸みが強い部分から外側はレイヤーのアングルに振れて、逆に毛流れを押し倒してしまう結果になります。これを下のスクエア〜シェイプ断面図を使用して確認してみましょう。

この解決策として私が長い間行ってきたのは[ チャプター２MOGLE] で解説したスノーボードのモーグルコースに教えてもらったエッジのカービングです。ちょうどスノーボードのエッジがカービングをしながら方向を変えるように、元入った角度に対して段階的な滑らかなカウンターフォースを加える事で、急激な上昇エネルギーの増加や、減退を防ぎながら方向を転換させるという理屈です。つまり、カーブした面は中心点によって固定され、その外側に力戦を分散させるというのがその理論です。このコンシスタンシーを作る力の分離が私たちが行なっているヘアーカットにも有用な事なのです。

後に私はここまで38章に渡って書いてきたこのブログの内容から、新しい発見をする事となりました。その前に、ここまで我慢強くこのブログを読んで頂いた皆様に、エレバーションとツイストオーバーダイレクションでの骨格補正と毛流補正の技術についてお話を進めていかなければなりません。少なくとも現段階において皆さんにはヘアーデザインは容積を持つ物体であって、その形の中にエネルギーの力線が存在する事をご理解いただけたと思います。これまでの内容は、決して私の書物の時間稼ぎでも無く、それを皆さんにご理解いただくための必要なステップでした。我慢強く読み進んで頂いた方々、これまでの時間は決して皆さんにとって無駄ではなかった事をこれからの章でお約束します。先ずは色々なカットのテクニークで紹介してあるパネルの移動方向がどのように毛流れと骨格の補正に関わってくるかの手始めに、次の章では[39 Corrugated Plate] に進んで行きます。
