こんにちは皆さん、ブログにたどり着いた皆さん。私は2005年に渡米して、アメリカはサンディエゴの美容室BB Meme Salonを開業、現在二店舗のオーナであり、ヘアスタイリスト、そしてプロフォトグラファー日々活躍中です。このブログでは、私のヘアーデザインのアイデア「Less Distorted Hair Designing」を、「骨格構造と毛流れ補正法」を使って説明していきます
Vertical Fill Technique
As you can see from the diagram below, I am introducing the Vertical Fill Technique. This method uses the shifting angle of a comb held perpendicular to the scalp—specifically at the center, top, and bottom of a grid—to establish a scale for expanding or narrowing the shape vertically for each grid.
For example, for someone with a flat spot at the back of the head as shown in this diagram, you can use this technique to build an ideal head shape as a base, while simultaneously cutting the actual length and angle you want using that exact same angle.
The angle shifting toward the layer side from the Top Point shown in the diagram is especially crucial. After repeatedly lifting the hair from below, this angle prevents excess weight from piling up and flattening the lift you just created. In short, as long as you determine the comb angle, you can proceed with the design cut right away with the distortion already corrected.
下の図解を見て頂いたらお分かりの様に、グリッドの中央と上部、そして下部にコームを直角に置いた時の頭皮に対するコームの角度の変化を使って、縦方向に形を膨らませたり、狭めたりする尺度をグリッド毎に設けるVertical Fill Techiqaudをご紹介しています。例えばこの図に示したような後頭部に凹みのある方の場合、この手法で理想的なヘッドシェイプをベースに作りながら、そのままの角度で実際に作りたい長さや角度を作成する事も可能。と、いうわけです。特にこの図にあるTop Pointからのレイヤー側に振れた角度は重要で、下からの持ち上げ角度の繰り返しの後に、余分なウエートの重なりが折角の持ち上げ効果を押し潰してしまわないように働きます。つまり、コームの角度さへ決定していれば、そのまま歪みの処理が終えた状態でデザインカットを行えるという理屈です。
Among the techniques I have devised, this one is particularly useful for short styles. Once you get the hang of it, correcting bone structure becomes almost as natural as riding a bike.
However, this alone is not enough. The longer the hair gets, the more it is influenced by the natural hair stream (growth direction), creating areas with varying density. Furthermore, areas with structural indentations on the head tend to have extremely disrupted hair streams. Even if the hair inside a recessed area grows uniformly, the surface angle changes, causing the projection angle to shift into various directions.
To address these lateral changes in hair stream and variations in structural recession, the technique I frequently use is an elevation cutting method that fits the bone structure more closely by combining over-direction with the rotation axis of each rotation pole. Using the “Fill angles” shown above, the direction of the elevation is adjusted to work against the hair stream. At the same time, an appropriate layer rotation is added from the opposite side to adjust the length, correcting the measurements on both sides for symmetry. By doing this, you can correct the shape while lifting hair streams that grow flat or collapsed at any angle up to over 30 degrees, effectively stabilizing the hair flow.
This hair stream correction is rooted in the following principle:
When hair grows upward at an angle of 30 degrees or more, the hair ends will not flip out. Instead, they act as a foundation for the upper layers, allowing the entire head of hair to flow freely.
In “Less Distorted Hair Design,” the correction angles gathered from this grid and the rotation points used to correct the hair stream along the bone structure are incredibly vital elements. In the next issue, we will dive into this hair stream correction using elevation.
私が考案したテクニックの中で特にショートスタイルにはとっても有用で、慣れてしまえばほとんと自転車を漕ぐような要領で骨格補正が完了してしまいます。しかしながら、これだけでは不十分です。特に長さが長くなればなるほど、毛流れの影響を受けて、積載密度が異なる箇所が出てきます。それに、頭の凹みのあるエリアは得てして毛流れが極端に乱れます。凹んだ骨格の中に生えている毛髪がたとへ規則正しく生え揃っていたとしても、表面の角度が変化するにつれて、その打ち上げ角度がさまざまな角度へとシフトするのが原因です。このような横方向への毛流れの変換と、凹みの形状の変化に対応するためのテクニックとして私が多用して来た技術は、格ローテーションポールの回転軸にオーバーディレクションを組み合わせた、骨格によりフィットするエレベーションカット技法でした。エレベーションの方向は毛流れに逆らう様にこの上で示した、Fill角度を用いて補正していき、反対側から適正なレイヤーローテーションを加えて長さに補正をかけて左右のメジャーメントを左右対称に修正して行きます。そうする事で、形の補正をかけながら、いかなる角度に潰れ倒れてい生えている毛流も３０度以上に起こすことが出来、毛流れを安定させる事ができるのです。この毛流補正の根底にあるのはこの原則が元になっています。
髪の毛が三十度以上に上向きにに生えている場合、毛先は跳ねる事無く上層のレイヤーの土台の役割をするので、髪全体が自由自在にに流れるようになる。
Less Distorted Hair Designに置いて、このグリッドから拾っていく補正角度と、骨格に添いながら毛流補正をかけていくローテーションポイントはとっても重要な要素を持ちます。では次の号でこのエレベーションによる毛流補正について触れて行きます。
