こんにちは皆さん、ブログにたどり着いた皆さん。私は2005年に渡米して、アメリカはサンディエゴの美容室BB Meme Salonを開業、現在二店舗のオーナであり、ヘアスタイリスト、そしてプロフォトグラファー日々活躍中です。このブログでは、私のヘアーデザインのアイデア「Less Distorted Hair Designing」を、「骨格構造と毛流れ補正法」を使って説明していきます

Contour and Grids

 

When you overlay contour lines and grids in this manner, it becomes easier to understand which points correspond to higher and lower positions on the bone structure. At this stage, using blue and red pens to differentiate between convex and concave bone structures can further clarify how the surface is formed at each point. Try to visualize the shape of the surfaces between the points. You should be able to get a rough idea of the slope—whether it is relatively flat, steep, or rounded.

 

このように等高線とグリッドを重ね合わせて見ると、骨格の高い位置と低い位置がどのポイント上にあるかわかりやすくなります。この時点で青ペンと赤ペンを使って凸骨格と凹骨格を色分けしてみるとさらにポイント状でどのような麺構成が成り立っているかが分かり易いちょ思います。そして、ポイントとポイントの間の面の形状を想像してみて下さい。ざっくりとはその傾斜がイメージできると思います。平に近いのか？勾配がキツイのか？それとも丸みが強いのか？

 

Based on that image, we will draw the hair flow. In DIGIC, this was done with great precision within a 5mm horizontal line, but here, we will outline it more roughly for clarity.

そのイメージを元にして、毛流れを描いてみます。DIGICでは5mm水平ライン内に、もっともっと緻密に記載していく作業でしたが、分かりやすくざっくりと書きます。

At this point, you should be able to predict where the hair will become denser. Also, since the whirl is clockwise, the hair on the right side tends to move downward, while the left side is more likely to move forward. However, this is just a prediction; actual direction can vary depending on any indentations or the individual’s bone structure, so it’s important to observe carefully during the process. This careful observation can lead to various discoveries.

For example, if you’ve previously only noted that the hair on the left side flicks out or that the bangs won’t separate properly, or if there’s excessive thickness at the back of the head—these issues vary among individuals and can’t be fully addressed here. However, by conducting this analysis for each client, you can expand your understanding.

Instead of just noting, “The right side has a tendency to flick out,” you can now say, “The hair on the right side grows downward, so I’ll lift it to reduce the flicking.”

By adopting this mindset—understanding and physically addressing the hair growth patterns and head shape—you can apply the necessary adjustments and find solutions based on the fundamental cutting theories you’ve already learned.

One important note: Early Sassoon basic haircuts often stabilized the hairstyle by creating a structure between the external walls and columns, similar to setting up a tent. This firm structure helps in lifting the internal hair flow. Typically, we learn to use a comb and tension cutting from a wet state to create a dense overlap. When shaping hair to fall naturally while making adjustments, it is recommended to work with minimal tension, using just a mist of water at the roots.

もうここまで来れば、髪が密集して来る場所が予測がつくと思います。渦が左巻きなので右のサイドは下方向に動いていきますが、左側は」前方に向けて動いていく可能性が高くなります。ただそれはあくまでも予測の範囲で、途中にくぼみがあったり、個人個人の骨の形状によっても方向が変化して来るので、やはり、施術の際には注意して観察してみて下さい。そうすることで色々な発見を得ることができます。

今まで何故左側だけが跳ねていたのか？何故前髪がちゃんと別れくれないのか？とか、何故後頭部に厚みが溜まってしまうのか？だとか、そのような色々な問題点を挙げれば個人差もあって、ここでは表現し切れませんが、まずは、皆さんが考えうる範囲を広げる為に、この作業を一人一人のお客様に行ってみて下さい。そうすれば、今までは

『右の側が跳ねる癖がありますからね。」としかコメントできていなかったのが、

「右側の髪の毛は下方向に生えているので、それをリフトして跳ねを軽減させるように切っておきますね」

と、いうもっとプロフェッシナルな対応ができるようになってきます。私がそうであったように、お客さまの生えぐせや頭の形のせいにするのでなく、それを物理的に理解して、必要な処置を施すマインドセットで対処を繰り返していく癖づけさへすれば、問題を解決する鍵は皆さんがこれまでに習得してきたカットの基礎理論の中から勝手に湧いて出て来るものです。

ただ、一つ注意点を挙げるなら、初期のサッスーンのベーシックヘアカットのほとんどが、外壁を柱の間に挟んで、テントを作るような要領で髪型を安定させる技術がほとんどでした。そのしっかりした突っ張りのある構造は内部の毛流れを起こし上げる効果があるので、通常重なりを密にするためにウエット状態からコームの荒歯でテンションカットをしていく事を習います。ナチュラルに動く髪をそのまま落ちる位置で補正をかけながら形を作る場合、根本に霧吹き程度で超ノンテンションで作業する事をお勧めします
