こんにちは皆さん、ブログにたどり着いた皆さん。私は2005年に渡米して、アメリカはサンディエゴの美容室BB Meme Salonを開業、現在二店舗のオーナであり、ヘアスタイリスト、そしてプロフォトグラファー日々活躍中です。このブログでは、私のヘアーデザインのアイデア「Less Distorted Hair Designing」を、「骨格構造と毛流れ補正法」を使って説明していきます。

TRUSS STRUCTURE

Let’s examine a more complex force line. This client had extremely sparse hair from the upper back of the head to the front top. Due to the wavy texture and fine nature of the hair, extending the length caused the top to collapse and spread out sideways immediately. To address this, I defined the central pillar of the design by combining two triangular cone-shaped flat layers, creating a square shape. By directing the side pillar from the Behind Ear Point to the Nape Corner in a triangular outline towards the chin, I concentrated the force vector of this pillar into a single point, 45 degree aline to the angle of second point to behind Ear Point. (It will create same length in entire object)  resulting in a taller support structure. Although the strength towards the center line weakens, setting this pillar at a shorter distance (same length in entire object) and placing it below the second point allows it to function like a suspension bridge support. This approach benefited her by adding more volume to the back. The two flat layers form an overall reverse arch structure, resembling a container stacking fruits towards the center, enabling a significant amount of volume to be accommodated at a higher level. From the second point upwards, I used internal gradation (90 degrees <) to adjust the force vector direction and maintain the same length from the second point to the Golden Point, successfully creating a square structure assembly that provides both buoyancy and stability.

This design is similar to a TRUSS structure, which is commonly used for bridges spanning wide rivers. While using a flat layer to connect the parietal area to the occipital bone could produce a stronger structure, a certain degree of bulge is desirable to better represent the natural shape of the human head.

少し複雑な形の力線を見てみましょう。このお客様は後頭部上部からフロントトップ部にかけて極端に毛量が少なく、しかもウエーブがかかった毛質で猫っ毛の為、長さを長くするとすぐにトップが潰れ横に広がってしまっていました。そこで、僕はこの三角コーン型のフラットレイヤーを二つ組み合わせる事でデザイン中心線の大黒柱の役割をもっと明確にしました。Behind Ear Point からNape CornerにかけてのSide Pillor を三角のアウトラインで顎方向に方向づけする事でこの柱の座っていく方向性の力戦を一点に集中させ、より高い支柱を作りました。中心線に向けては立つ力が弱くなりますが、この柱を短めの設定してセカンドポイント下に配置してあるので、吊り橋の支えのような働きをしています。この事はバックにもより多くのボリュームを抱え込みたい彼女にとっては好都合だし、これらの二つのフラットレイヤーは全体像では逆アーチの構造になっているので、まるで器が中心に向けてフルーツを盛るような形になっているます。これによって、より多くのボリュームをある程度高く搭載する事が出来ます。セカンドポイントから上部にかけてはインターナルグラデーション（９０度＜）を使って力戦の方向の転換をセカンドポイントからGolden Pointにかけて同じ長さが保て正方形形構造の集合体を目指す事で浮力と安定性を同時に作り出す事に成功しました。

この構造自体はTRUSSストラクチャーと言って、実際に幅広の川に架ける橋の構造に広く使われているものとよく似ています。ハチからオキシタルボーンを結んだ部分をフラットレイヤーで作るともっと強靭な構造にすることは出来ますが、ここは人間の形を表現するた為に膨らみが欲しいところですね。

This client, who had playful and curly cat-like hair, was open to trying any bold hair design. To address her ongoing concern of wanting to “calm her hair that gets blown away by the wind quickly,” I decided to use the Full Truss Structure. Her hair was also challenging to maintain volume. By incorporating a triangular high gradient from the side, I channeled the force vector towards the strongest support pillar created from behind the ear to the nape corner. I set up a third pillar with a high angle and relatively shorter length in the center, allowing the volume point to be supported at 1/3 of the upper section from the side profile.

As you can see, the extension lines drawn from this setup align perfectly with the extension lines of her nose and chin, creating a balanced line. The side profile ends up with a solid triangular structure. This design allows her hair to sit firmly in place and maintain its shape effectively.

このお客様は猫っ毛のカーリーヘアー遊び心があって、どんな奇抜なヘアーデザインにもチャレンジしてもらえる方だったので、Full Truss Structureを使用して彼女の常日頃の悩み、「風にすぐにはだけて飛んでいってしまう髪を落ち着かせたい。」という望みを叶えてあげる事にしました。彼女の髪はボリュームを保つことも難しいのです。さうぢ側からも三角のハイグラデーションを組み込んで、一番強度の出やすい耳後ろからネープコーナーに作った支柱へ向けて力戦を引き入れます。センターは比較的長さの短い設定でハイアングルに打ち上げた３本目の支柱を作り、横からのプロファイルで1/3上部にボリュームポイントを支えられるように設定しました。ご覧になってお分かりのように、このせってから引いた延長戦が丁度彼女の鼻と顎の延長線上にバランス線を引くようになっていて、横からのプロファイルは正三角形の強固な構造に仕上がっています。これによって、彼女の髪はしっかりとその位置に座り、フォルムをしっかり保つ事が可能になりました。

これらの支柱と外部壁のつっぱりで構築するヘアーデザインは６０年代SASOON初期の２Pillor構造の応用に架橋構造を組み合わせた応用です。６０年代は飛ぶ鳥を落とす勢いだった、SASSOONは７０年代のヒッピーカルチャーを経て、ナチュラル思考が全世界を圧巻した後一度停滞期を迎えます。アンソニーマスコロはTONY＆GUYを設立レザーカットとディスコネクトを、トレバーソルビーも独立してセオリーに囚われない独創的な世界を作り出そうとしていました。川嶋文夫も日本へ帰郷しました。しかし、川嶋文夫のアプローチはオーソドックスでした。彼はSASSOONの基本概念のヘアースタイルの中で繋がって移動する力線を切り離そうとはしませんでした。しかしながら、当時のSASOONを着せられた日本人の多くはとっても滑稽で、とてもカッコいいという内容ではありませんでした。その主な要因は僕も８０年代の日本にいて僕も体感しました。東洋人とアングロサクソンの骨格の形状の違いです。この当時の2Pillorスクエアーシェイプ構造だけではローアングルに打ち上げ角度を下げても、頭の絶壁部分が潰れ、ハチの張りが目立ってしまうという欠点があります。この欠点を補う為に、SASOONで勉強してして日本に帰国した美容師達が試行錯誤を繰り返しながら辿り着いたのが、パネルをリフトしながら回転させ、中心にボリュームを集めてくるエレベーションと呼ばれる技術でした。その後斎賀健治を中心に日本支社を開設したTONY & GUYにもこの手法は取り入れられましたが、友人がTONY &GUYでの修行を終えて帰って来たおり、基礎カットのテキストを見せてもらった時、彼らのアプローチが少し違っているのに気づきました。彼らはローテーションを中心から外へ向けて行い、この柔らく幅広のシルエットをラテン民族に提供する事を考えていたのです。丁度アメリカでメキシコ人移民が増加している時期と重なって、TONY & GUYの繁栄にかなり一役買ったのだろうと思います。
