New Service Alert!

The facial services at BB Meme Salon Hillcrest are expanding. Our Esthetician, Ashlee, is excited to introduce Celluma LED Light Therapy!

LED Light Therapy, also known as “Lower-Level Light Therapy,” has become very popular over the last few years both in salons and dermatology offices. This treatment is safe, non-invasive, and utilizes specific light wavelengths to achieve therapeutic benefits with no associated pain. The light energy that is absorbed during treatment will enhance cellular performance within our tissue, achieving wellness through the power of light. Because of the growing popularity of LED, so many devices have hit the market within recent years.

What makes the Celluma device different than others on the market?
Celluma was developed based on NASA research in pain management and injury treatment using light therapy on their Astronauts. Through this research, it was proven that with the use of specific light wavelengths, there can be positive biological effects created. Stemming from this fact, Celluma also differs in that it will simultaneously emit multiple wavelengths including: Blue, Red, and Near Infrared light photons allowing multiple skin concerns to be addressed in treatment.

So how does this all work?
Welcome to Science Class! This process can be seen as similar to the way plants experience photosynthesis. Plants will absorb light energy and convert it in to nutrients. So will the skin! Since the Celluma is able to emit all three wavelengths: Blue, Red, and Near Infrared- the photons will be absorbed by the skin’s photoreceptors. The light will then be converted into the cellular energy known as, “Adenosine Triphosphate” aka ATP. This energy boost promotes cellular repair, cellular regeneration, and restores homeostasis.

Because the Celluma is able to emit all 3 lights at one time, a plethora of skin concerns can be addressed quickly and effectively without requiring down time or recovery time. This includes, but not limited to:

  • Acne Treatment
  • Reducing Inflammation
  • Treating Hyperpigmentation
  • Reducing Wrinkles and Fine Lines
  • Improving Skin Firmness, Elasticity, and Texture.
  • Improves Circulation

And much more……Class Dismissed!

Sounds great but who is this for? Good news is that its safe for all skin types and concerns but there are a few contraindications to look out for such as:

  • If you take any prescription medications that cause any photosensitivity. Allow 3-5 days before administering the Celluma treatment.
  • Do not use if you take steroidal medication. Allow 3-5 days before administering the Celluma treatment.
  • Do not use over a pregnant belly, BUT it is safe to use over a pregnant person’s face.
  • Do not use if the Client has a history of epilepsy or seizures.
  • Do not use over a cancer lesion or any known metastasis. You will need to get a Doctor’s clearance note before receiving treatment.

Depending on the specific skin concern you are interested in addressing, the Celluma LED Light Therapy is best administered through a series of treatments to achieve maximum results. Please see before and after photos located in the article.
