こんにちは皆さん、ブログにたどり着いた皆さん。私は2005年に渡米して、アメリカはサンディエゴの美容室BB Meme Salonを開業、現在二店舗のオーナであり、ヘアスタイリスト、そしてプロフォトグラファー日々活躍中です。このブログでは、私のヘアーデザインのアイデア「Less Distorted Hair Designing」を、「骨格構造と毛流れ補正法」を使って説明していきます。

Less Distorted

This epilogue reflects on how I discovered the potential of this method by studying previous pioneers.

It makes me feel more humble to go deep into a subject because we must confront the fact that significant discoveries can be made by individuals without extensive historical knowledge. For example, Art Nouveau, developed by Antonio Gaudí in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, featured designs using iron frames and cement to create organic shapes. In contrast, Art Deco, which emerged in the 1920s, often involved thick iron pillars and bricks, along with tensile structures. Early SASSOON hairdressing techniques exhibited a structure more aligned with Art Deco than Art Nouveau.

このエピローグでは、過去の先駆者たちの研究を通じて、私のカット技法の可能性を発見した経緯を振り返っています。

深く掘り下げることは、広範な歴史的知識を持たない個々の先駆者達がであのようにあの時点で重要な発見をしている事実、そのことは私をより謙虚な気持ちにさせます。たとえば、アントニオ・ガウディによって19世紀末から20世紀初頭に発展したアール・ヌーヴォーは、鉄のフレームやセメントを使用して有機的な形状を作り出しました。一方、1920年代に登場したアール・デコは、厚い鉄の柱やレンガ、テンセグリティ構造が特徴的でした。初期のサッスーンのヘアドレッシング技術は、アール・ヌーヴォーよりもアール・デコにより近い構造を持っていました。

Mary Quant, in 1959, popularized the SASSOON Five-Point Cut alongside her Mini Skirt. Art Deco was instrumental in initiating human industrial development, and SASSOON was deeply immersed in this movement. Before his innovations, haircuts were done using razors, with heads uniformly blocked into the same size and hair cut to the desired length within each block. The primary concepts were “length” and “silhouette.”

The phrase “Hair is lifting Hair” was coined by SASSOON.

1959年にマリー・クワントは、ミニスカートと共にサッスーンの「ファイブ・ポイント・カット」を着飾って街を颯爽と歩きました。アール・デコは人間の工業発展を促進する上で重要な役割を果たし、サッスーンもその一つのムーブメントとして深く関わっていいたに違いありません。彼の革新以前は、髪のカットはレザーを使い、頭を均等なサイズにブロックし、そのブロック内で望ましい長さに髪をカットするという方法が一般的でした。主な概念は「長さ」と「シルエット」でした。

「髪が髪を持ち上げる」というフレーズは、サッスーンによって生まれました。

The 1970s, marked by the chaos of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, followed by the Oil Shock, saw a rise in Naturalism. This period questioned the reasons for conflict and the motivations behind it.

Here’s a revised version of the sentence:

“Twenty-five percent of the population in the U.S. was under 25 years old, shifting the value of society toward the younger generation. The era of the hippies, Aflo, and the youth revolved around personal expression, including their hairstyles. Farrah Fawcett became a style icon, and Kotaro Okamoto constructed the Tower of the Sun. In 1969, the CORVETTE model changed to “Manta,” and the Muskie Act of 1970 and the Oil Shock of 1973 followed. During this time, SASSOON’s influence waned. He needed to sell his name to P&G in order to survive during that time.

1970年代は、韓国戦争やベトナム戦争の混乱と、続くオイルショックによって特徴づけられ、ナチュラリズムが台頭しました。この時期は、紛争の理由やその背後にある動機について疑問を投げかけるものでした。ヒッピー、アフロ、２５歳以下の人口がアメリカ全国人口の25%。価値観が逆転しようとしていました。若者たちの時代は、個人の表現に重点を置き、ヘアスタイルもその一部でした。ファラ・フォーセットはスタイルアイコンとなり、岡本太郎は「太陽の塔」を設計しました。1969年にはコルベットモデルが「マンタ」に変更され、1970年のマスキー法と1973年のオイルショックが続きました。この時期、サッスーンの影響力は衰退し、彼はその時代を生き延びるために自らの名前をP&Gに売る必要がありました。

What I’m emphasizing is that design does not exist in isolation. Art Deco architectural styles, for instance, were supported by massive iron production in the U.S.

Our quest is to determine the best way to live on this Earth.

Ultimately, we seek to be human.

Since our departure from our ape ancestors, as a beautician, I feel a strong responsibility to ensure our clients look modern, whether natural or bold. This is why I decided to write this blog: “LESS DISTORTED Hair Designing.” It aims to understand the average measurements of human head shapes and to maintain at least a minimal level of dignity in our hair designs. My approach focuses on head shape and hair growth pattern correction methods.

In the cycle of blow-dry-focused service

If dents appear on our head shape, we want to fill them in. Filling in requires more length, which adds weight. This weight and length can accentuate the dents. To address this, lifting the part with an up-stem blow-dry is recommended, though it may fall flat again after about two hours.

Again, remember: “Hair lifts Hair!”—but only if you apply the correct shape to match the angles of the head.

Building on this theory, I developed a method to create a perfectly shaped underlayer for hair design. This approach is what I call the “Less Distorted Hair Designing Method.”

デザインは孤立して存在するものではないということを強調したいのです。例えば、アール・デコの建築スタイルは、アメリカでの大規模な鉄の生産に支えられていました。

私たちの探求は、この地球上で共存共栄をしていく事です。

しかし最終的には、人間であることを追求します。

私たちが猿の祖先から離れて以来、美容師の仕事の一部に、クライアントが現代的に見えるようにする責任を担っています。それが、このブログ「LESS DISTORTED Hair Designing」を書くことにした理由です。これは、人間の頭の形の平均的な測定を理解し、髪のデザインにおいて最低限の品位を保つための方法に焦点を当てています。私のアプローチは、頭の形と髪の毛流パターンの修正方法に重点を置いています。

ブロードライ中心のサービスのサイクルでは、

頭の形に凹みが現れた場合、それを埋めたいと思います。埋めるには、より長い髪が必要であり、それが重さを加えます。この重さと長さが凹みを強調する可能性があります。それに対処するためには、上向きのブロードライで部分的に持ち上げることが推奨されますが、約2時間後には再び平らになる可能性があります。

再度、覚えておいてください：「髪が髪を持ち上げる！」—ただし、頭の角度に合わせた正しい形を適用する場合に限ります。

この理論を基に、髪のデザインのために完璧に形作られたアンダーレイヤーを作成する方法を開発しました。このアプローチが私の「Less Distorted Hair Designing Method」と呼ばれるものです。
